Dr. Adams is a proud SJSD Alumni. After graduating from Lafayette High School and NWMSU, she began her career teaching and coaching in Ravenwood, Missouri. Prior to earning a Doctorate in Leadership from William Woods University in 2020, Dr. Adams received an Ed.S. in the Superintendency, a M.S. in Elementary Leadership, and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Northwest Missouri State University. Dr. Adams career has provided her with vast experiences as a K-12 Teacher/Coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal.

In 2011 and 2018, Dr. Adams was honored as a Missouri Distinguished Principal nominee. In 2012, she was invited to the White House on behalf of the National and Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals, where she met the President of the United States and was invited to discuss the revision of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) with U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan. Dr. Adams has served as the President of the local chapter of the Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals and in various volunteer positions within the St. Joseph community. 

Dr. Adams feels blessed to have been a part of Bessie Ellison Elementary previously as a parent, and currently as Principal. She is married to her husband Joe and together, they enjoy raising three children. She credits their love and support for allowing her to continue the work she so dearly loves. In her spare time, one will likely find Dr. Adams enjoying the outdoors with her family.
