Ashley Marriott will serve as the new principal at Bessie Ellison Elementary. Marriott is a lifelong resident of Northwest Missouri with a passion for teaching, learning, and leadership. Growing up in Ravenwood, MO, and attending high school at Northeast Nodaway, Marriott was an all-state athlete in basketball, softball, and track. After high school, she attended Northwest Missouri State University, where she played 4 years of softball, earning all MIAA honors, and received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education in 2006.  

Upon graduation, Marriott taught 3rd grade at North Nodaway Elementary. In 2011, she completed her Master of Science in Educational Leadership, also from Northwest Missouri State. After seven years in the classroom between 3rd and 5th grade, Marriott moved into the principal role for North Nodaway. She has been serving as the elementary principal for nine years. 

She is married to Adam Marriott and has four children. Adam is a small business owner in St. Joseph. As a family, they enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, playing sports, and spending time at the family pond.
